The Rhode Island Spine Center is currently working on several research projects, designed to investigate improved methods of diagnosing and treating patients with back pain, neck pain and headaches.
Recent and current projects include:

     
Diagnosis and treatment of pregnancy-related back pain
 
Non-surgical treatment of herniated discs
 
Manipulation and neural mobilization in the treatment of spinal stenosis
 
Manipulation and rehabilitation in the treatment of cervical radiculopathy (nerve root problems)
 
Improved methods of documenting outcomes of treatment for low back pain
 
Reliability and validity of a method of detecting spinal instability
 
Improved methods of diagnosing and treating spinal pain
