Part of the misson of the Rhode Island Spine
Center is to provide classroom and residency-based
training for chiropractic and medical physicians
regarding the art and science of the modern
approach to caring for patients with
spine-related disorders.
Chiropractic interns perform externships at
the Spine Center, and residents from the Internal
Medicine Departments of Rhode Island Hospital and
Memorial Hospital rotate through to learn about
our methods of diagnosing and treating back pain,
neck pain and headaches. Dr. Murphy teaches a
class on History Taking at the Brown University
School of Medicine, and students from the medical
school spend time observing at the spine center.
